New Delhi: E-logistics service provider Zypp Electric announced on Monday that it has expanded its partnership with 10-minute grocery delivery platform Zepto to further facilitate last-mile deliveries in a greener way.
Zypp currently serves 50 Zepto hubs in Delhi-NCR and plans to grow its partnership 10-fold over the next 12 months by doubling its fleet and service areas nationwide.
“In this first step of our partnership, we have collectively helped reduce carbon emissions by 1.62 lakh and facilitated over half a million for Zepto so far, all through electric vehicles,” said Akash Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Zypp Electric.
With a fleet of over 1,500 EV drivers, the two startups are enabling more than 20,000 deliveries a day in Delhi and will also expand to Bengaluru and Mumbai over the next four months.
“As we grow, we will focus on continuously reducing the carbon footprint of our operations,” said Vinay Dahani, Chief Operating Officer, Zepto.
The startups claimed to have helped reduce carbon emissions by over 1.02 million kg through over 17 lakh deliveries.
Zypp Electric currently has an active fleet of over 5,000 electric scooters and plans to roll out over 1.5 lakh scooters by 2023.
The start-up has partnered with industry leaders such as Zomato, Swiggy, Big Basket, Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, PharmEasy, Jio Mart, Delhivery and Spencers.
Founded in 2021, Zepto is valued at $900 million following its recent $200 million Series D fundraising.
