Lidl opens its new store in Sligo

Lidl opened its new store on Cranmore Road on Thursday, creating 10 new permanent jobs in addition to the team of 14 already employed at the previous store. The store will also bring an investment of 6 million euros to the locality.

The new-look store features wider aisles, higher ceilings, photovoltaic solar panels and on-site electric vehicle charging stations.

In line with Lidl’s community goals as part of its ‘A Better Tomorrow’ corporate social responsibility programme, and to mark the opening of the newly refurbished store, the store team welcomed representatives from the local charity , HavinALaugh, and presented them with a donation of €1,000 Lidl vouchers to support the ongoing work they do to support the local community.

Store Manager Liam Mannion said: “We are delighted to finally open the newly refurbished store to the public after being closed for six months.

“The team has been working very hard behind the scenes to get the store back up and running and we look forward to our customers seeing our new store look, enjoying the new features and enjoying the same value they are used to.

The brand new Lidl store will be open every day: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. starting Thursday February 17 at 8:00 a.m.
